   Can the low cost be true?

   The NCC states that Kettle Island option “has a comparatively low cost.”

   Gatineau mayor, Marc Bureau, says “the bridge will connect with Montée Paiement where we just spent many millions of dollars to widen the road.”

   The question then is, can the City of Gatineau manipulate the cost weighting by doing the work already. This would not be added to the cost of the bridge that the NCC reports. Other options would not have the same associated work added to their respective option.

   I don’t want this to sound like a conspiracy issue, but this is not transparent to me. Anybody know the answer to this?

   That the Algonquin people are only now being officially consulted about the proposed crossing after the release of the Kettle Island preliminary recommendation is yet another example of a deeply flawed process. I wonder what other relevant factors the “unbiased” and “objective” assessment process missed or got wrong during their deliberations behind closed doors?
